About

What is INDABA?

INDABA is a community-oriented coffee shop located in the West Central Neighborhood of Spokane, WA. We serve specialty coffee from multiple roasters using the brew method we feel best represents it's flavors (AeroPress, Beehouse, Chemex, French Press, Clever, V60, etc.). We support local artists, musicians, and artisans, proudly displaying art on walls, hosting live music and selling homemade specialty wares. We support local community outreaches and neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Where did the name INDABA come from?
In 2007, founder Bobby Enslow traveled to South Africa and worked in an HIV/AIDS Hospice facility. This experience made an impact on his life and when he was searching for a name, he chose "INDABA", tying his past experiences into his dreams for the coffee shop.

What does INDABA mean?

INDABA is a Zulu word that refers to a gathering of leaders to discuss important matters. This word is at the heart of our mission: to unite different people groups (i.e. tribes) across West Central, Spokane, and the World...one cup at a time.
