INDABA is a S. African Zulu word that refers to a gathering of tribal leaders in order to discuss an important matter, share resources, and collaborate ideas. This word is at the heart of our mission to unite different people groups (i.e. tribes) across West Central, Spokane, and the World . . . one cup at a time. INDABA COFFEE BAR opened in the Fall of 2009, in the newly constructed housing development Walnut Corners, located on the 1425 W Broadway - just West of the Spokane County Cou rthouse, giving us a chance to start providing the neighborhood with simply great coffee as we share the space with a not-for-profit deli, book store, and market. This is our first step towards our dream of a full-size coffeehouse. INDABA COFFEEHOUSE was built on the dream that people from all tribes could come together to enjoy the different elements of the human experience. As we share our passion for coffee, we hope that other artisans will join us in providing other experiences (i.e. art, music, drama, poetry). Our goal is to provide a place where local residents, the homeless, working professinoals, and artisans can rub shoulders and experience the things we all share as people.
